“It is especially necessary that listening to the Word of God becomes a living encounter, in accordance with the age-old and still relevant tradition of lectio divina, helping to find in the biblical text a living word that poses questions, indicates direction, and shapes life” (John Paul II, Novo millenio ineunte, 39).
Lectio divina, “if effectively promoted, will bring a new spiritual springtime to the Church” (Benedict XVI, The Word of God as a Source of Renewal for the Church, in: “L’Osservatore Romano” 26 (2005) no. 11-12, p. 25).
“There is a concrete way of listening to what the Lord wants to tell us in His Word, and of opening ourselves to be transformed by His Spirit. This is what we call «lectio divina». It consists in reading the Word of God in moments of prayer, so that it may enlighten and renew us” (Francis, Evangelii Gaudium, no. 152).
Data from August 2024 – August 2025.
We began the project of promoting an encounter with the living Word of God based on the ancient method of Lectio Divina in 2011 at the Parish of Our Lady of Sorrows in Wrocław-Strachocin by printing the first brochures.
Our main goal was to encourage parishioners to independently (individually) read and meditate on the Word of God using this method, specifically:
Before the Covid pandemic, we distributed approximately 500 copies of the brochure to 13 parishes, mainly in the Wrocław diocese. The pandemic halted our Lectio project in printed brochure form; perhaps we will resume it someday if there is demand…
The daily meditations on the Word of God published on our website are created by a group of individuals collaborating with Fundacja Rhema.
We hope that our proposal for listening to and meditating on the Word of God in the form of Lectio Divina will help you encounter the living God, present in the pages of Holy Scripture. Our goal is to show you an accessible and simple way to read, listen to, and pray with Holy Scripture, so that the Word of God you encounter may guide you in your daily life. We also wish to pray with the entire Church, which is why the reading chosen for daily meditation aligns with the liturgical year calendar.
The meditations published on this website should by no means replace individual reflection and listening to what God speaks to each of us in the depths of our hearts directly through His Word. However, we hope that they can help in discovering the richness of meaning in the texts of Holy Scripture and inspire a search for a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
The Lectio Divina application is an electronic version of Lectio Divina meditations, created by Tomek Romanowski from the “On Jest” community. Through the application, we have reached over 50,000 people in over 130 countries. The application is available for Android, iOS devices, and e-readers.
We have strived to create an easily accessible, organized, simple, and intuitive tool for prayer with the Word of God, with understandable meditation content that brings the Word of God closer in the context of an ordinary person’s daily life and relates to the life situations experienced by the writers.
The application is available free of charge.

Peace and good!
My name is Br. Serhiy Kippa. I am a Catholic priest-monk from the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin. In all the “poverty of my words,” I simply share with friends a seed of His Word that has touched me. And so, an archive was created.
I thank Mr. Jerzy Prokopiuk and the RHEMA Foundation for the opportunity to create a Ukrainian version of Lectio Divina.
